SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer defeated Sacramento State on the road Saturday evening by a final score of 1-0 at Hornet Field.
With the win the Titans improve to 11-3-2 on the year and 5-1 in conference play. Fullerton remains in first place in The Big West with 15 points.
The Titans broke through on a goal by Erick Serrano in the 24th minute. Serrano ranks third on the team with 13 points on three goals and seven assists.
Roberto Ordonez assisted on the goal for his 10th assist of the season which leads the conference and ranks tied for first in the country. Ordonez leads The Big West with 28 points on nine goals and 10 assists which ranks second in the country.
Fullerton's defense stood strong throughout the game, allowing just five shots on goal and a total of 17 shots. Tetsuya Kadono stopped all five shots on goal to record his fifth shutout of the season.
The Titans are back in action Wednesday night at Titan Stadium as UC Riverside comes to town for a Big West matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT.
