Jackie Bruno is in her fourth season as an assistant coach for the Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team after joining the team in the spring of 2023.
In the 2025, season, the Titans finished the season with a 14-3-3 overall record. The Titans had their best start in program history after starting the season with a 10-0-2 record. The Titans picked up their first win at Portland in program history in a 1-0 win over the Pilots. They also scored a win at Pitt in a 1-0 win for their second ever win over an ACC opponent and first since 2003. The Titans were ranked as high as No. 21 in the Top Drawer Soccer rankings after their strong start to the season and ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since 2015. The Titans earned 10 honors as Isaac Ranson was named the Goalkeeper of the Year as well to the Big West First Team. Isabella Cruz was named to the first time for the third straight and became the fifth Titan in program history to earn that award three times. Camryn Cruz was named to the All-Big West First Team. Taya Townsell was named to the All-Big West Second Team. Skye Johnson, Jenae Perez, and Isabella Contreras were named to All-Big West Honorable Mentions. Kayalily Penn and Sienna Pimentel were both named to the All-Freshman team. Isaac Ranson and Camryn Cruz were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Third Team. The Titans finished third overall in the Big West regular season standings and ended a 4-game losing streak in the Big West Tournament after beating Cal State Bakersfield 1-0 in the first round. However, the Titans fell to eventual tournament champions Cal Poly 1-0 in the semifinals. The Titans defense was among the best in the country for the season. They conceded the fewest goals nationally (8) for the season and had the best goals allowed average (.400) in the country). The Titans led the nation with 14 shutouts after the regular season and had the best shutout percentage in the country at .700.
In the 2024 season, the Titans went 6-9-4 overall with a 4-3-3 record in conference play. The Titans were the No .6 seed in the Big Championship where they lost to the No. 3 seeded UC Santa Barbara Gauchos 2-1 in the first round. She helped coach Kaylee Noble and Isabella to All-Big West First team appearances, Taya Townsell and Kaylin Raibon to the All-Big West second team, and Isabella Contreras to the All-Big West freshman team. Isabella Cruz and Kaylee Noble were also named to the United Soccer Coaches All West Region Third Team.
In the 2023 season, the Titans went 8-5-7 overall with a 6-1-3 record in conference play. The Titans were the No. 1 seed in the Big West Championship tournament after clinching the Big West Regular season Conference Title but they fell to No. 5 UC Irvine 1-0 in the Big West Championship Semifinals. She helped coach Kaylee Noble to being named the Big West Freshman of the Year as well as making the all-freshman team. Isabella Cruz, Kaylin Raibon, Makenna McGill were also named to the All-Big West First Team.
Bruno has spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team. (2021-23)
Bruno came to CPP after serving as the head coach at NCAA Division II College of Staten Island since the close of the 2019 season.
A former high school standout on Staten Island in New York and then top-level collegiate and professional player, Bruno spent time at Wagner College as a Graduate Assistant coach, and also with the New York/New Jersey Red Bulls Grassroots Programs. The appointment at the College of Staten Island was her first collegiate head coaching assignment. Named coach almost immediately following CSI's 2019 season, Bruno started by bolstering the roster with the intention of putting a competitive dent into the East Coast Conference in her debut coaching season in 2020 before the fall and spring seasons were eventually canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bruno brings a rich soccer history in tow with her to CPP. A standout at Staten Island Technical High School, she was a four-time Staten Island Advance All-Star and 2011 Wingate Award winner, tallying 91 career goals and 25 assists en route to a PSAL Championship in 2009 and All-State honors in 2009 & 2011. From 2012-16, she starred for NCAA Division I UMass-Amherst, collecting 31 points on 13 goals and five assists with six game-winners. She was named captain in 2014 and was a 2015 NEWISA Senior Bowl participant.
Bruno continued to compete professionally post-graduation. She was an All-UWS First-Team selection in 2016 & 2017 with New Jersey Copa FC, and was on the Sky Blue FC preseason roster in March of 2017, before landing with Telge United FF in Sweden, tallying five points in just 120 minutes before an injury ultimately ended her playing career.
Alongside her tremendous playing career, Bruno has been on the coaching circuit as well before landing at CSI and now CPP. Serving as a private instructor for many years, she worked with U9 Girls' teams with Cedar Stars Academy beginning in 2016 and then later with the Red Bulls in 2017. From August 2016 to April of 2017 she served as a Graduate Assistant at Wagner College, where she helped plan practice sessions and organized game day operations and away game accommodations and travel.
A graduate of UMass - Amherst with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management & Finance, Bruno achieved her MBA in Marketing at Wagner College.
