Cal State Fullerton

Ryan Hamm was hired as the Cal State Fullerton men's basketball director of operations in the fall of 2021. He was promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2022-23 season. 

Since joining the Titans’ coaching staff, Hamm has played an integral role in the program’s recruiting efforts and player development, helping recruit and develop All-Conference standouts Joshua Ward, Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro, DJ Brewton, Max Jones, Tory San Antonio, Jalen Harris, EJ Anosike, Latrell Wrightsell Jr. and Damari Milstead.

Hamm has also been involved in the development of numerous players who have gone on to play professionally including Landon Seaman, Jalen Harris, Max Jones, Daeshawn Eaton, Lathaniel Bastian, Tory San Antonio, Zion Richardson, Zach Visentin, DJ Brewton and Vincent Lee.

Following the 2025-26 season where Hamm and the 18-16 Titans made their first Big West Tournament appearance in two years, he was invited to the inaugural NABC Flight School. Hamm was one of 25 assistant coaches to attend the invitation only event on the Nike Philip H. Knight Campus in Beaverton, Oregon targeted at ascending assistant coaches and athletics administrators.  

Hamm was a key influence on the Titans offense which ranked fourth in the country for pace of play and led the Big West Conference in scoring and assist to turnover ratio during the 2025-26 season.

Hamm and the 2023-24 Titans tallied a 14-18 record on the season, including 7-13 in conference play. Guard DJ Brewton garnered All-Big West Honorable Mention honors after leading the team with 17.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest.

Hamm helped guide the team to its second consecutive Big West Tournament Championship Game appearance in 2022-23, following a six game winning streak to end the regular season and tournament wins over Hawai'i and UC Irvine. The squad went 20-13 overall and 12-6 in Big West action. 

In his first year with the Titans in 2021-22, the Titans went 21-11 and 11-4 in conference play on their way to winning the Big West Tournament Championship to secure a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history.

Hamm joined the Titans after spending two years as an associate head coach at Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Florida where he helped the Lions to the Sunshine State Conference Championship in 2021.

Prior to his return to the Saint Leo sideline, Hamm was on Coach Randall's staff at Lindenwood from 2015-2019. Four years on the sideline for the Lions, Hamm helped Lindenwood win 21 games in 2016-17, a program record for wins during its NCAA history. The Lions won 69 games since Hamm arrived at Lindenwood. 

In 2017, Hamm was named a 30-under-30 honoree by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). 

A native of Maysville, Ky., Hamm earned a bachelor of education degree in 2013 from Thomas More (Ky.). While on the Saints' roster, Hamm was a member of the conference's honor roll all four years that he was in college. Hamm played for Mason County High School where he was a member of the 2008 state championship squad, and helped the 2006 and 2009 teams win a regional championship.
