FREEDOM HS: A 2012 graduate of Freedom HS in Oakley, Calif. • Played four years for head coach Gary Alexander • Was a 2012 Perfect Game Pre-Season All-American, but missed his senior campaign with an injury • As a junior in 2011, finished the season 4-5 with a 1.80 ERA, and 52 strikeouts in 62 and 1/3 innings pitched while earning first team all-Bay Valley Athletic League honors • In 2010 as a sophomore was named second team all-BVAL after finishing the year with a 2.28 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 61 and 1/3 innings pitched • Played for the 2011 Oakland Athletics Area Code Team…was a four-year member of the honor roll.
PERSONAL: Born in Santa Clara, Calif. • Parents are Larry and Sue Navilhon • Has two older sisters (Melissa and Kelly) • Was a Titan bat boy in a 2006 game at UC Davis • Father (Larry) played at Cal State Fullerton from 1979-1980 • Enjoys camping, boating, fishing and wakeboarding • Favorites include: Josh Hamilton (baseball player), AT&T Park (baseball stadium), Derek Jeter (athlete), Kings of Leon (musical artist), Chipotle (restaurant), San Francisco Giants (baseball team), Pacific (place to play), “Moneyball” and “Miracle” (movies), “Mind Gym” (book).
