Former Titan All-American and Kansas City Royal outfielder ShaneCosta returns to the Cal State Fullerton program  for the2012-13 season as an undergraduate assistant coach • Costabatted .372 over his 3-year (2001-03) Titan career capped by BigWest Conference player of the year honors in 2003 • He spentparts of the 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons with the Royals, whodrafted him in the second round after his junior season, andcompiled a career batting average of .254 in 154 games with 5 homeruns and 42 RBI • Costa was a two-time (2002 & 2003)first-team All-Big West selection • In 2002 he batted ateam-leading .365 with 4 home runs and team-best totals of 23doubles, 40 RBI and 55 runs • In 2003 he was second on theteam with a .374 average with 5 home runs, a team-best 59 RBI and28 doubles, one shy of the school record • Costa's 63 careerdoubles are tied for second in CSF history while he is alone insecond with 57 hit by pitch.
