He was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 14th round of the 2008 MLB Draft and went on to enjoy a 12-year professional career (2008–2019). Evans reached the Triple-A level and pitched in multiple organizations, including the Marlins, Colorado Rockies, and Seattle Mariners systems. Beyond affiliated baseball, Evans competed internationally in winter leagues across Mexico and the Dominican Republic, highlighted by winning a Caribbean World Series championship in 2013 and being named Best Starting Pitcher of the 2018 Caribbean World Series. After retiring, he transitioned into coaching, becoming a respected pitching instructor and later the head coach of the Orange County Riptide collegiate summer team. He has also coached at Golden West College and Tesoro High School, continuing his impact on the game by developing the next generation of players.
