Cal State Fullerton's Titan Stadium will play host to the 2007 Big West Conference women's soccer tournament beginning with a pair of semifinal matches on Friday night (Nov. 9) and concludes with the championship match on Sunday (Nov. 11) with the winner earning the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
No. 2-seeded Long Beach State opens the tournament on Friday evening at 5 p.m. against No. 3 Cal Poly in a rematch of last season's Big West Conference semifinal won by the Mustangs, 2-1, in double overtime on the 49ers' home field. This season, Long Beach State handed Cal Poly a 3-1 loss in Long Beach on Nov. 2.
Regular season champion and top-seeded Cal State Fullerton will host No. 4 UC Irvine in the tournament's second semifinal which begins 30 minutes after the completion of the 49ers-Mustangs match. The Titans defeated the Anteaters, 1-0, on Nov. 1 in their final Big West match of the season at Titan Stadium.
