Box Score 2 FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton softball team extended its win streak to seven games after securing the series win over UC Davis in a 5-4 and 11-3 victory on Saturday. The Titans improved to 21-10 overall and 10-1 in Big West play.Â
Sophomore
Nataly Lozano powered the Titans in their two victories over the Aggies, slashing .667/.750/2.167 in two games. She went 4-for-6 at the plate with three home runs, two walks, five runs batted in and five runs scored. Lozano also made an assist from right field.Â
Cal State Fullerton 5, UC Davis 4
The Titans plated three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 3-0 lead over the Aggies.
Sarah Coccillos (2-for-3, RBI) kicked off the scoring with a sacrifice fly, driving in
Sarah Perez, who led off with a bunt down the third-base line. Perez went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and a stolen base.Â
Lozano (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI, R) extended Fullerton's lead with a two-run home run to right field, her fifth of the year. She extended her season-high hit streak to six games and has recorded her eight multi-RBI game of the season.Â

UC Davis took advantage of pitching mistakes in the fifth inning as
Trisha McCleskey and
Leanna Garcia combined to walk four batters and hit one, allowing four runs and giving the Aggies a 4-3 lead. The Titans responded in the top of the sixth inning with doubles from
Ava Arce and
Kate Verhoef, tying the game at 4-4. Perez then followed with an RBI single to center field that deflected off the pitcher's glove to retake a 5-4 lead.Â
McCleskey earned the win to improve to 11-9 after starting and re-entering the series opener. In 6.2 innings of work, McCleskey allowed four earned runs on six hits and three walks, striking out two and increasing her season total to 88.Â
Cal State Fullerton 11, UC Davis 3
The Titans beat the Aggies to the scoreboard in the series-deciding game, scoring four runs in the second inning. Arce (2-for-3, 2 2B, 3 RBI, R) drove in Lozano (2-for-2, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 4 R) with a double down the right-field line, and the Titans capitalized on a UC Davis throwing error to add three more runs for a 4-0 lead.
Lozano extended Fullerton's lead in the third inning with a two-run home run, her second of the day, and added another in the sixth with a solo home run over the scoreboard in right field to make it 7-0. She finished the game with three RBI, increasing her team-leading total to 26 RBI.Â
The Titans plated four insurance runs in the seventh inning for an 11-3 lead.
Micayla Turi (1-for-1, RBI, R, SB) drove in Verhoef (1-for-3, RBI, R) on an infield single before McClinton stole home, while Arce drove in the final two runs on a double to left-center field.Â
Eva Hurtado pitched five scoreless innings before
Hana Winton entered in relief and gave up back-to-back home runs, bringing the score to 7-3. Hurtado re-entered the game in the bottom of the sixth with no outs on the board and got out of the inning unscathed, recording two putouts with the help of her defense and a swinging strikeout. Hurtado improved to 6-3 overall after securing the series win in an 11-3 victory.Â
The Titans and Aggies return to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the series finale at La Rue Field.Â
