Titans Lose to UC Irvine on the Road

IRVINE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's water polo team lost to the No. 10 UC Irvine 17-5 on Thursday night at the Anteater Aquatics Complex.

The Titans fell to 16-10, 1-3 overall for the season.

Lotte Boxsem, Kenzie Searle, Sofia Moschetti,  Delaney Latham, and Jade Lonzo scored goals for the Titans. Renske Boxsem made six saves in the cage.

It was a back and forth first quarter for the Titans as the Titans scored three goals in the quarter.  Lotte Boxsem scored to make it 1-1, Kenzie Searle made it 3-2, and and finally Sofia Moschetti scored to cut the lead to 5-3. 

However, after the first quarter, it was all UCI for the rest of the game.  The Anteaters scored 11 straight goals until Delaney Latham broke up the goal streak with one in the fourth quarter.  Jade Lonzo also added a tally in the fourth quarter to make it a 16-5 game.  

The Titans are back in action this weekend at No. 23 California Baptist University.  The match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
