Fullerton Completes Perfect Week at Titan Gym

An 82-66 Titans win over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday completed the perfect 2-0 week at Titan Gym.

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Fullerton Titans completed a perfect 2-0 week at home with an 82-66 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday. The win on Saturday ended a previous three-game losing streak to the Roadrunners and put the Titans in the six spot of the Big West standings.

Davis White put the Titans on the board first with a shot from downtown, which became a common thing in Saturday evening's game. The Titans quickly took a 13-point lead, eight minutes into the game, leading 20-7. CSF went on a three minute, ten-point scoring run, putting them up by 22 which would put them in a good spot heading into halftime. Fullerton led 46-23 at the break.

Kendrick De Luna led the team with eight points in the first half, along with two rebounds and an assist. The Titans shot 53% from beyond the arc, nailing eight of their 15 three-point attempts. They were perfect at the free-throw line, successful on all six shots. In the first half, Fullerton recorded a 47% shooting percentage. CSF tallied 13 points on the Roadrunners' 11 turnovers, while only logging six turnovers themselves.

The Titans had a comfortable lead to start the second half, but that did not stop them from working hard. Fullerton posted another 36 points in the final half while CSUB stepped up, tallying 43 points. Fullerton's early lead was enough to stay on top and complete the perfect week at Titan Gym. CSF had a 36% field goal percentage in the second half.

Landon Seaman led the team in the second half with 12 points. Seaman shot a perfect three for three behind the three-point line on Saturday. In total, the grad transfer tallied 18 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal against the Roadrunners.

On his birthday, Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro was perfect at the charity stripe, leading the Titans with eight free throws in his eight attempts. De La Cruz Monegro also led the team with six rebounds and two steals.

The Titans are back in action on Thursday, Feb. 12 at Long Beach to kick off a big rivalry week.
