SOMIS, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team finished in first place at the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by CSUN, after shooting 25-over par 889 on Tuesday.Â
Will Tanaka led the Titans to their first team title of the 2025-26 season with a top-three finish, recording 10 birdies over three rounds. Tanaka finished at 2-over par 218 (69-74-75), just behind golfers from Cal Poly and Utah Tech, who shared first place at even-par 216. His third-place finish marked a new career best finish.Â
Giacomo Comerio stood alone in seventh place at 5-over par 221, putting in eight birdies across the tournament, including four in Monday's opening round.Â
Shibo Wang tied for 16th place at 10-over par 226. His best round came in the final 18 holes, where he shot a 73.
Brenden Ashman made his season debut and posted a career-best finish, tying fr 27th place alongside UC Irvine's Rei Harashima. Ashman shot 13-over par 229 (80-74-75).Â
Dante Lazare rounded out Fullerton's starting five, tied for 60th place at 23-over par 239. He climbed 15 spots after showcasing a stronger performance in each round (89-80-70). Â
Lance Nguyen and
Eliot Vidal joined the Titans in Somis as individuals. Nguyen tied for 39th at 16-over par 232 (72-80-80), while Vidal tied for 49th at 19-over par 235 (73-81-81).Â
The Titans will play in their second tournament of the spring season at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on February 23-25.Â
