FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team defeated UC Irvine 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Titan Courts.

The Titans improved to 4-2 overall for the season and 2-0 in conference play.  The game was moved up from it's originally scheduled date on Sunday.

The Titans started the match down 1-0 after dropping the doubles point.  After falling in No. 3 doubles, the Titans won in No. 1 doubles to send it to the a winner takes all on Court 2.  UCI prevailed in the 7-6 tiebreak 7-2 to get the first point of the match.

However in singles, the Titans were all over the Anteaters from the get go as the Titans won the opening set in all six singles matches.  Seha Yu playing No. 4 singles, tied the match at 1-1 after winning 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) over Haily Huynh.  Amelia Zylberman playing No. 3 singles for the first time defeated her opponent in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4.  Milena Gevorgyan put the Titans near match point after winning in straight sets on Court No. 6 6-3, 7-5.  Chloe Schwarz continued her perfect day and won the match for the Titans in No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-3.  

After winning the match the Court 1 and Court 2 matches both came to a winner take all 10 point tiebreak in the third.  Martina Markov prevailed in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (10-8).  UCI got their only singles point on Court 2 in the final match as Amanda Perez defeated Emilie Lugon-Moulin 0-6, 7-6 (7-3), 1-0 (13-11).

The Titans will return to action at home next weekend as they host Pacific and San Jose State. First serve is set for Friday morning against Pacific.
