Kelsie Whitmore Makes Banana Ball Debut with Savannah Bananas

Former Titans Softball and Team USA trailblazer continues to break barriers ahead of the WPBL's 2026 launch

FULLERTON, Calif. – Former Titan and women's baseball trailblazer Kelsie Whitmore continues to break barriers, making her Banana Ball debut with the Savannah Bananas in front of a sold-out crowd at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, on August 1.

The two-way outfielder and right-handed pitcher joins fellow Team USA stars Jocelyn Alo (Oklahoma) and Valerie Perez (Ole Miss) in the fan-focused league through September.

Whitmore began her elite baseball career in 2014 when she earned a spot on the USA Baseball Women's National Team. She helped lead Team USA to gold at the 2015 Pan American Games and two silver medals at the 2014 and 2025 Baseball World Cups.

The former 2021 Big West Field Player of the Year helped guide Titans Softball to three consecutive Big West titles (2017-2019), while earning First Team All-Conference and NFCA Second Team All-West Region selections. She hit .395/.507/.824 as a senior in 2021. In five seasons, Whitmore appeared in 227 games, batting .300 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI.

Whitmore launched her professional baseball career in 2022, becoming the first woman to play in a Major League Baseball partner league under the Staten Island FerryHawks. In two seasons, she collected six strikeouts in 22.2 innings of work, and was named the 2022 USA Baseball Sportswoman of the Year.

She spent the 2024 season with the Oakland Ballers, pitching 23 innings over 13 games and earned a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Sports List. Whitmore continues to pave ways for future generations as she prepares to compete in the Women's Professional Baseball League's inaugural 2026 season.
