FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball dropped its final home game of the year by a final score of 10-2 against Hawaii Sunday afternoon at Goodwin Field. With the loss, the Titans drop to 27-24 on the year and 17-10 in Big West play.

Hawaii opened the game with four consecutive singles, quickly pushing across two runs to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

In the bottom of the third, Marcos Rosales and Maddox Latta singled to put runners on the corners with one out. Carter Johnstone then drove in a run with a fielder's choice, cutting the deficit to 2-1. 

Hawaii broke the game open in the fourth inning, scoring four runs to extend their lead to 6-1. One inning later, they added a run to make it 7-1.

The Titans offense had nine hits and six walks on the day, but only two runs to show for it as they left a total of 14 runners on base. In the series Fullerton left a total of 37 runners on. In both the fourth and the sixth innings, the Titans had golden opportunities with the bases loaded, but were not able to bring anyone across to score.

Andrew Kirchner hit a solo home run to center field in the seventh inning, making it 7-2. The home run marked his 11th of the season, the most on the team and fifth in the Big West. It also brought his RBI total to 66, extending his conference lead.

In the eighth, Hawaii added a run, and in the ninth, pushed across two more to extend their lead to 10-2.

Fullerton wraps up the 2025 season with a three-game Big West series next weekend at UC Irvine. Game one of the series is set for Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
