Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton softball team completed their series sweep over UC Riverside in a 6-2 victory on Sunday. The Titans improved to 34-14 overall and 19-5 in Big West play. 

The Titans and Highlanders remained scoreless through three innings before Sarah Coccillos scored Briona Ferdman, who came in to pinch run for Ava Arce after leading off the fourth with a base hit. 

Arce (2-for-4, R) remained an instrumental force for the Titans in the top of the sixth inning, reaching on another base hit up the middle, stealing second base, and scoring on an error by UC Riverside's catcher, for a 2-0 lead over the Highlanders. 

Nataly Lozano (1-for-3, 2 RBI, BB) extended the Titans lead to 5-0 in the top of the seventh inning on a base hit that scored Kate Verhoef (single, bunt) and Colby McClinton (single, bunt), while Jenna Stevens went 1-for-1 at the plate, finding a sixth run for the Titans. As a force, the freshmen drove in four of the five RBI for the Titans, going 3-for-7 at the plate.

The Highlanders found momentum in the bottom of the seventh, plating two runs on four consecutive hits. Eva Hurtado saw 6.2 innings, holding the Highlanders to two runs off eight hits and two walks, while collecting five strikeouts. Trisha McCleskey entered to find the final out for the Titans with runners on first and second. McCleskey pitched one ball before Colby McClinton secured their sixth series sweep with a lineout. 

The Titans travel to No. 7 UCLA for their final midweek game of the 2025 season on Wednesday, April 30, at 6:00 p.m. This game was originally scheduled as the season-opener on Feb. 6 before inclement weather forced a postponement.
