FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton softball team fell to No. 6 UCLA (6-2) and No. 7 Arizona (12-1, 5-innings) on Friday night at the Judi Garman Classic. The Titans stand 12-8 on the season.Â

The nationally ranked Bruins jumped to an early 5-0 lead over the Titans in the second inning, scoring two runs on a single to center field and a three-run home run to right-center field.Â
The Titans drove in their first run in the fourth inning on a double to left field by
Nataly Lozano, who entered the game batting .448 with runners on base.
Sarah Perez scored on the play after reaching on a fielder's choice. Â
Ava Arce closed Fullerton's deficit to 5-2 later that inning with a single through the left side that scored Lozano.
UCLA found their last run in the fifth inning on a solo shot to center field for a 6-2 lead over the Titans.Â
Eva Hurtado pitched five innings in relief of
Trisha McCleskey (2.0 IP, 5 R, 2 ER, BB), holding the Bruins to one run on two hits. Together, they walked seven batters while striking out three.Â
No. 7 Arizona 12, Cal State Fullerton 1 (5-innings)
After a scoreless first inning, the Arizona Wildcats plated nine runs in the top of the second inning on five hits, two extra base hits and one error. The Titans responded in the bottom half of the inning, with a single down the line by
Colby McClinton.Â
Arizona extended their lead over the Titans to 10-1 in the third inning on a base hit, before plating two more runs in the fourth on two singles. Arizona's Miranda Stoddard held the Titans to four hits and one run through five innings.Â
Fullerton's starting pitcher,
Leanna Garcia (1.0 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 6 ER) and
Trisha McCleskey (4.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER) walked a combined six batters while punching out a batter each on strikes.Â
The Titans are set to face Utah for the second time this season on Saturday at the Judi Garman Classic. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Titans stand 1-0 on the season against the Utah Utes, following their 7-6 victory at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Feb. 22.Â
