FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team began Big West play in style after sweeping UC San Diego 7-0 on Sunday at the Titan Courts.

The Titans won the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.  The No. 3 pairing of Kaytlin Taylor and Seha Yu won their match 6-3 and the No. 2 pairing of Mariia Nikitash and Diana Yanotovskaya won their match 6-4 to secure the doubles point.

Kaytlin Taylor won her No. 6 singles set 6-1, 6-1 and Mariia Nikitash won her No. 4 singles set 6-3, 6-2 to put the Titans on the brink.  Diana Yanotovskaya rebounded from dropping the second set and quickly made work of her opponent in the third set to secure the match in No. 3 singles and won 6-1, 3-6, 6-0. Milena Gevorgyan won her No. 5 singles in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Sein Myoung took three sets to win her No. 1 singles set.  She led 6-3, 4-3 in the second set before getting cramps and needing a medical timeout.  She dropped the second 7-5 but came back and won the third set 10-6 to get the win and make it 6-0 for the Titans.  Seha Yu rebounded from losing the first set in a tie break to winnign the next two sets and won her match 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-4.

The Titans will head on the road next weekend to take on Santa Clara and San Jose State on Saturday and Sunday.
