Box Score 2 TUCSON, Ariz. – The Cal State Fullerton softball team split their first day at the Arizona Bear Down Fiesta, defeating Ohio 2-1, before falling to No. 15 Arizona in a five-inning, 10-1, run-rule. The Titans earned their fifth win and second loss of the season.Â

Trisha McCleskey recorded the first complete game of her career, improving to 2-1 on the season. Through seven innings, McCleskey allowed four hits, no earned runs, two walks, and retired three Ohio batters on strikes. Of the 103 pitches she threw, 56 of them were strikes.
Ava Arce (2-for-3, RBI) started the scoring for the Titans in the bottom of the first inning on a hit up the middle.
Sarah Perez, who reached on a fielding error by the shortstop, scored on the play.Â

Alexia Lopez (1-for-2, RBI, SB) followed Arce with a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring
Colby McClinton who singled to Ohio's shortstop.Â
Ohio found short-lasting momentum in the top of the seventh inning scoring a run on two runs and one defensive error by the Titans. McCleskey secured Fullerton's fifth win of the season on a fielder's choice from shortstop to third base.Â

The ranked Wildcats scored two in the first inning, seven in the second inning and one in the third while holding the Titans to four hits.Â
Leanna Garcia (1.0 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 3 BB) got the start for the Titans and gave up six runs on five hits in one inning pitched. McCleskey (0.1 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 1 BB) and
Eva Hurtado (2.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K). Â
Colby McClinton recorded her second triple of the season to leadoff the fourth inning before Arce, who entered the game slashing .563/.563/.813, drove in her 12th run of the season on a base hit down the right field line.Â

Fullerton's first hit came in the top half of the third inning on
Sophia Guevara's single through the left side.Â
The Titans return to Hillenbrand Stadium on Saturday to face South Alabama at 9:00 a.m. PT. They will conclude their stay at the Bear Down Fiesta on Sunday in rematch games against Ohio (8:00 a.m. PT) and No. 15 Arizona (10:30 a.m.).Â
