SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team wrapped up their weekend at the ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego hosted by the University of San Diego and San Diego State.

The Titans posted a solid showing in both singles and doubles throughout the weekend as they had multiple early round wins over opponents across the West Coast.  

In singles, the Titans had four players make it into the Main Draw of 64.  Amelia Zylberman and Emilie Lugon-Moulin had to win two rounds of qualifying to make it to the main draw.  Emilie defeated Aspen Chung (Cal Poly) 6-2, 6-3 in the first round of qualifying and Zoya Chulak (Arizona) 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 in the second round of qualifying. Amelia defeated Sofia Cohen Perovani (LMU) 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 in the first round of qualifying and Stephanie Shogreen (Arizona) 6-3, 7-5 in the second round of qualifying.

In the Main Draw of 64, Emilie Lugon-Moulin won her first round match against Mayu Crossley (UCLA) 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).  She was defeated by Teja Tirunelveli (SDSU) on her home court, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Lugon-Moulin was one of six Big West players to win their first round match in the main draw out of 20 Big West participants. Seha Yu was defeated by Alexia Harmon (Pepperdine) 6-3, 6-0 in the first round.   Amelia Zylberman was defeated vy Jessica MacCallum (CP) 6-1, 6-1 in the first round. Milena Gevorgyan fell in the first round to Ekua Youri (UCSB) 6-4, 6-2.

The Titans had three doubles pairings in the  Main Draw of 64.  After earning a first round bye, the pairing of Emilie Lugon/Chloe Schwarz defeated Sarah MacCallum/Alexandra Ozerets (CP) 8-7 (7-5) in the second round. They fell in the Round of 16 against Jo-Yee Chan/Vessa Turley (SDSU) 8-3.  The pairing of Seha Yu/Martina Markov defeated Imogen Haddad/Eugenia Zozaya Mendez (USC) 8-6 in the first round.  They also defeated the pairing of Maria Garcia/Zoya Chulak (Arizona) 8-6 in the second round.  They fell to Alexia Harmon/Anastasiia Grechkina 8-1 in the Round of 16. The third pairing of Madison Schwarz/Dana Kunza fell 8-6 in the first round against Kayla Chung/Ahmani Guichard (UCLA).

The Titans will compete again in three weekends when they head to the valley for the CSUN Fall Invitational (Nov 7-9).
