Titans Close Fall Season in 14th Place at Oregon State Invitational

Nguyen and Tanaka lead Fullerton with matching 7-over par 223 finishes

SALEM, Ore. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf finished the Oregon State Invitational in 14th place after shooting 38-over par 902 as a team. 

Lance Nguyen (74-71-78) and Will Tanaka (76-71-76) tied for 35th place with a score of 7-over par 223. Nguyen's best round came in the second set of 18 holes, where he shot 1-under par 71 with four birdies. Tanaka matched Nguyen's score in the second round, edging him out with five birdies. 

Shibo Wang shot 11-over par 227 to finish the tournament tied for 53rd place. Wang got more efficient with each round, shooting a career-low 71 in the final round on Wednesday. Giacomo Comerio (13-over par 229) tied for 62nd place, while Chase Yukawa rounded out the Titans in 80th place with a score of 32-over par 238. 

The Titans go on break before kicking off the spring season at the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by CSUN, on Feb. 2-3.
