2025 Titans Defeat Alumni

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball defeated the Alumni team by a final score of 9-2 Saturday afternoon at Goodwin Field in the annual Alumni game.

As it does every year, the alumni game had a tremendous turnout, with Titans from every decade since the program's inception in 1965, in attendance at Goodwin Field.

The 2025 Titans jumped out to an early lead, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Maddox Latta, Paul Contreras, Isaiah Gomez and Waldie Perez all drove in runs for the Titans in the first inning.

The 2025 team added to its lead in the second inning on a solo home run by Eli Lopez to make it a 7-0 game.

Jake Pavletich, former player and coach for the Titans, recorded the first hit of the game for the alumni team in the fourth inning. Richie Pedroza then drove in Pavletich and Sahid Valenzuela with a double to left field to get the alumni on the board, 7-2.

Latta recorded another RBI in the fifth inning to make it an 8-2 game for the 2025 Titans before Gomez brought in another run in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 9-2.

The Titans now turn their attention to opening weekend as Stanford comes to Goodwin Field for a four-game series beginning Friday, Feb. 14.
