FULLERTON, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton men's basketball head coach Dedrique Taylor has announced the signing of Kaleb Brown for the 2024-25 season.
"Kaleb gives our program many different winning aspects," Taylor said. "He is a high character young man with experience, great court vision, high basketball IQ and size. We are both in search of winning and are excited to take advantage of this opportunity together."
A six-foot-seven guard from Huntsville, Alabama, Brown spent the last three seasons at the University of Missouri. As a freshman in 2021-22, he saw playing time in 27 games, averaging 9.6 minutes, 1.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.9 points per contest. He scored a season-high seven points with three rebounds against Vanderbilt and dished out a season-best five assists in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals against LSU.
Brown played in 11 games as a sophomore at Missouri in 2022-23, totaling nine points, six steals, five assists and four rebounds. He then saw action in two games in 2023-24 before missing the remainder of the season with a leg injury.
While prepping at Lee High School under his father, Greg, Brown was named the 2021 5A State Player of the Year. He was named to the 2021 AL.com All-Tennessee Valley Boys Basketball Team and earned ASWA First Team All-State honors and Super All-State Team recognition. Brown averaged 16.3 points, seven rebounds and nine assists as a senior. He finished his high school career with 681 career assists, ranking fifth all-time in the state.
Brown is the sixth newcomer to sign with the Titan program for the 2024-25 campaign. He joins transfers Kobe Young, Zion Richardson and Freddie Cooper as well as freshmen Davis Bynum and LoLo Rudolph.
