Box Score HONOLULU — Cal State Fullerton softball battled through 10 innings before falling to the Univeristy of Hawai'i at Manoa, 2-1, on Friday night. The Titans stand 18-4 in The Big West and 32-16 overall.Â
The Hawai'i native
Colby McClinton (1-for-3, HR, RBI, R) unloaded on the first pitch in the second inning, sending her third home run of the season over the wall in center field.Â
Haley Rainey made her 25th start of the season in the circle for the Titans. Rainey collected four 1-2-3 innings through five and a third before a single up the middle drove in the tying run (1-1) for Hawai'i.Â
Rainey (5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, BB, 2 K) was relieved by
Staci Chambers, who retired the next two batters with a pop-up and swinging strikeout to end the sixth inning.Â
Megan Delgadillo set the new Titans Softball program record with an infield hit to the shortstop in the top of the 10th inning. Delgadillo surpassed Sue Lewis (1981-84) with her 258th hit as a Titan.Â
Â
The Titans left four runners on base in the extra innings before the Rainbow Wahine hit back-to-back base hits and scored their winning run on a throwing error by
Jessi Alcala behind the dish.Â
Chambers (4.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 8 K) was awarded her sixth loss of the season.Â
The Titans and Rainbow Wahine return to the field on Saturday for a doubleheader slated to start at 2:00 p.m. HT.Â
