Box Score 2 HONOLULU - Cal State Fullerton softball took the series after defeating the University of Hawai'i in a 4-0 and 8-0 six-inning victory in Saturday's doubleheader. The Titans improve to 20-4 in The Big West and 34-16 overall.Ā

Hannah Becerra (2-for-4) loaded the bases with two singles and a walk in the top of the third for
Ava Arce (1-for-3, 2 RBI) with two outs on the board.Ā
Arce, who entered the weekend batting .289 with runners in scoring position, found a single up the middle on a 2-0 count to score Wallace and Perez for a 3-0 lead over the Rainbow Wahine.Ā

The Titans extended their lead over the Rainbow Wahine, 4-0, in the top of the seventh inning as Perez beat out a bunt and got caught in a rundown that allowed
Megan Delgadillo (2-for-4, 2B, R, SB) to steal home.Ā
Staci Chambers (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K) pitched her fourth shutout victory of the season, lowering her conference-leading opposing batting average to .205.Ā

Delgadillo led off with a single down the left field line before
Bailey Wallace advanced her into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt to the first baseman.
Kika Ramirez drove in Delgadillo with a single to right-center field for a 1-0 lead over the Rainbow Wahine.Ā
The Titans continued pressing the 'Bows in the second inning as
Colby McClinton reached first on balls, while
Jessi Alcala singled to right field to advance McClinton to third base. Two defensive errors by the University of Hawai'i allowed McClinton to score.
Sarah Perez also picked up an RBI for a 3-0 lead over Hawai'i.Ā
Haley Rainey took over for Chambers (2.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K) in the bottom of the third inning. Rainey allowed a hit up the middle on the first pitch of the inning but got out of it with the support of her defense.Ā
The Titans found their fourth run in the top of the fourth inning on a base hit up the middle by
Candace Yingling.Ā
With two outs on the board in the fifth,
Alexia Lopez loaded the bases for the Titans with a walk.
Jazmin Williams entered to pinch hit for Perez, working the count to grab an RBI walk for a 5-0 lead. Another run crossed home with a third consecutive walk issued to
Kate Verhoef.Ā
Delgadillo extended Fullerton's lead to 7-0 with a single through the right side before the Titans left bases loaded.Ā
Leanna Garcia (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K) earned the nod for the Titans in the fifth inning after Rainey allowed just one hit through two innings, collecting three strikeouts of her own.Ā
Lopez sent a ball into the outfield for an RBI single, scoring Sanchez for the eighth run of the game.Ā
Trisha McCleskey completed the run-rule victory for the Titans, striking out one hitter and walking one. The Titans turned the series around, not allowing a run in 13 innings after dropping the first game on Friday.Ā
The Titans return to Anderson Family Field to host cross-town rivals Long Beach State on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11. The series will kick off on Friday with a single game at 6:00 p.m. before concluding on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m.Ā
