FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton dropped game two of its nonconference series against UCLA by a final score of 4-1 Saturday evening at Goodwin Field. The Titans are now 14-29 with the loss.Â
UCLA struck first, scoring one run in the top half of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Roch Cholowsky to take a 1-0 lead.Â
The Titans immediately responded with a run in the home half of the fourth to tie the game at 1-1. With two outs and Moises Guzman at third base, Colby Wallace hit an RBI single to center field to tie the game.Â
The Bruins regained the lead in the seventh inning, scoring two runs on a double by AJ Salgado to take a 3-1 lead.Â
Christian Rodriguez got the start for the Titans and gave up three runs (one earned) on seven hits in 6.2 innings pitched. Rodriguez walked just one batter and struck out five. The right-hander drew the loss to drop to 2-6 on the year.Â
UCLA extended its lead to 4-1 in the ninth inning on an RBI double by Quintt Landis. Michael Barnett earned the win for UCLA to improve to 4-3 on the year. Rashad Ruff earned his seventh save of the season for the Bruins.Â
The series now shifts to Jackie Robinson Stadium Sunday afternoon for the third and final game of the series against UCLA. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
