Titans Thrive in Final Home Meet of the Season

FULLERTON, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton outdoor track and field featured five event winners Friday at home in the Titan Tune-Up. 

Abel Jordan posted the Titans' first event win of the night in the men's 110H, clocking in at 13.84. The time was just one one-hundredth of a second off his wind-legal personal-best, which is also the second best time in program history. Amira Hawkins won the women's 100H, posting a wind-aided time of 13.88. 

Justice Mephors dominated the men's discus by throwing for 55.45m to claim gold. The throw is the second furthest in program history and third furthest in the conference this season. Vicente Huerta claimed first place in the men's 800m, running a 1:55.58. Zachary Schroeder posted the Titans' final event win of the night in the men's 400H, clocking in at 55.75. 

Meanwhile at The Big West Multi Championships, Andrew Aguilar finished day one of the men's decathlon in third place. Aguilar, the back-to-back Big West men's decathlon champion, sits at 3825 points heading into day two tomorrow. He currently stands behind Josh Farmer (4017) and Max Daniels (3892) of UC Irvine. 

Aguilar's best result of the day came in the 400m of the men's decathlon, where he won with a time of 48.58. Aguilar also placed second in the shot put with a 13.28m and third in the 100m with a time of 10.91.
