HONOLULU – Cal State Fullerton baseball dropped its final game of the 2024 season, losing to Hawaii by a final score of 5-2 Saturday evening at Les Murakami Stadium. The Titans finish the 2024 season with a 16-38 record and 7-23 record in Big West play.
Fullerton jumped out to an early lead on back-to-back home runs by Nico Regino (first pitch of the game) and Jakob Schardt to leadoff the game. Regino and Schardt's home runs put the Titans up 2-0 after the top of the first.
Hawaii responded with one run in the bottom of the first inning to cut the Titans lead to 2-1. The Rainbow Warriors took the lead in the second inning with two runs to take a 3-2 lead. Hawaii extended its lead to 5-2 with two runs in the fifth inning.
Christian Rodriguez pitched 4.2 innings, giving up five earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out three in what could be his last game as a Titan.
Jason Blood pitched one shutout inning in relief while not giving up a single hit. Blood walked one batter and struckout two.
Seth Tomczak finished out his collegiate career with a shutout inning in relief. Tomczak finishes the season with a 2-2 record, five saves and a 1.32 ERA.
