Jordan, Rash Advance at NCAA West Prelims

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Abel Jordan and Reyte Rash advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in their respective events Wednesday as Cal State Fullerton track and field opened competition at the NCAA West Prelims. 

Jordan broke the school record in the first round of the men's 110H, clocking a 13.65 to qualify for Friday's quarterfinals. He finished third in the third heat, with the top three finishers from each heat advancing. Jordan ran the 16th fastest time out of 24 qualifiers. 

Rash ran a 51.32 in the first round of the men's 400H to qualify for Friday's quarterfinals. He finished third in the first heat, with the top three finishers from each heat advancing. Rash ran the 20th fastest time out of 24 qualifiers. 

The Titans featured a number of additional men's competitors Wednesday, including four in the first round of the 100m. Jordan posted Fullerton's fastest time in the event with a 10.38 to place 27th, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the quarterfinals. Alonzo Floriolli finished 30th with a 10.41, Ian Dossman placed 33rd with a 10.44 and Dominic Gates clocked 10.54 to finish 40th. 

Dossman also competed in the men's 200m, clocking a 20.85 to place 27th and narrowly missing the cut to advance. Joshua Hornsby, the previous school record holder in the men's 110H, placed 35th in the first round of the event Wednesday with a 14.05. 

Camren Willis posted a mark of 7.26m in the men's long jump as the Titans' lone field competitor Wednesday. He finished 38th overall. 

Jahzara Davis will represent the Titan women tomorrow, Thursday, May 23, in the first round of the women's 100H at 3:00 p.m. CT/1:00 p.m. PT.
