The Big West Release

FULLERTON, Calif
. - Cal State Fullerton softball collected 11 honors, including the Pitcher of the Year and Co-Defensive Player of the Year awards, The Big West Conference announced on Wednesday.

Haley Rainey was named the Big West Pitcher of the Year. She is the seventh Titan to be named the conference pitcher of the year and the fifth individual recipient (Tiffany Boyd won the award three times). Rainey is the second Titan to bring home the award in back-to-back years as Myka Sutherlin earned the honor in 2023. Like Sutherlin, Rainey was phenomenal in the circle for the Titans this season, pitching a six-inning perfect game against Pacific and a no-hitter against UC Santa Barbara.

Rainey was named the Big West Pitcher of the Week two times this season. She tossed the 59th and 61st no-hitter in school history, the 60th being tossed against Colorado State by teammate Staci Chambers, who joins Rainey on the First Team. She surpassed 300 collegiate career strikeouts this season. Rainey led the conference with 17 wins, a 1.76 ERA and a .213 opposing batting average. Rainey was also named to the All-Big West First Team.
