San Diego, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team advanced to the 2024 Big West Women's Tennis Championship Final after defeating UC Davis 4-1 in Friday's semifinal match at the Barnes Tennis Center.  

The Titans (17-8) are headed to their second Big West Championship match ever in program history.  The last time they went was in the 2017-2018 season under Head Coach Dianne Matias and Assistant Coach Ellie Edles-Williams who is now the current head coach of the Cal Poly Mustangs, who the Titans will play in Saturday's finale.  The Titans fell 4-2 that day in Indian Wells against the University of Hawai'i.  

The Titans won the doubles point over UC Davis to take an early 1-0 lead over the Aggies.  Josie Usereau/Sein Myoung won their No. 1 doubles match 6-1 while Milena Gevorgyan/Seha Yu were able to pull of the 7-5 win in No. 3 doubles to secure the point for the Titans.

In singles, the Titans went ahead 3-0 after Natalie Duffy won her No. 3 singles match 6-4, 6-1 and Mariia Nikitash won her No. 6 singles match 6-0, 6-4.  The Aggies staved off one point after winning their No. 4 singles match 6-3, 6-3.  However, Sein Myoung was able to seal the victory for the Titans with a 6-4, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles.

The Titans defeated Cal Poly 4-3 at home on April 12th.  The Titans won a slugfest against the Mustangs after dropping the doubles point.  Five of the six singles matches went to three sets with the Titans finally winning the match after winning in No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
