FULLERTON, Calif. ā Cal State Fullerton baseball lost Tuesday's midweek game to Arizona State by a final score of 3-1 at Goodwin Field. The Titans are now 12-21 on the year.Ā
Arizona State broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning on a two-run home run by Kien Vu. The Sun Devils extended their lead to 3-0 in the fourth on a bunt single to score a runner from third.Ā
The Titans got on the board in the sixth inning on a sacrifice bunt by Max Ortega that drove in Jakob Schardt from third base.Ā
Wyatt Halvorson got the win for Arizona State after throwing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out 13 batters.Ā
Jason Blood got the loss to drop to 2-3 on the year after giving up three runs on six hits in four innings pitched.Ā
Fullerton looks to bounce back and split the midweek series against Arizona State Wednesday night at Goodwin Field. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.
