Titans Shine at Texas, Stanford

AUSTIN, Texas — Reyte Rash finished fourth in the men's 400H final and the Titans posted four qualifying times Friday to highlight Cal State Fullerton track and field's day two showing at the Texas Relays. 

Rash ran a time of 50.81 in the men's 400H final to place fourth. His time is the second fastest in program history, behind his own 50.76 that he set last year at the NCAA West Prelims. 

The Titans' men's 4x100m relay team qualified for the final after posting a time of 39.88. The team, built of Alonzo Floriolli, Abel Jordan, Dominic Gates and John Clifford, ran the fastest time in the prelims. 

Joshua Hornsby and Jordan both qualified for the final in the men's 110H Friday. Hornsby ran a time of 13.97, winning his heat, while Jordan ran a 13.78 in the prelims to qualify for the final. Fullerton's final qualifying team came by way of the men's 4x400m relay squad. Isaiah Emerson, Chris Goode, Ian Dossman and Maleik Pabon posted a time of 3:11.70, finishing fifth in the prelims. 

Trinity Barnett shined in the women's 100m prelims, tying her own school record with an 11.49 to finish 27th. Jahzara Davis ran a 13.46 to place 15th in the women's 100H prelims. The Titans' women's 4x400m team, composed of Arionn Livingston, Alyssa Heinlein, Nancy Dematte and Grace Goldsworthy, finished 19th in the prelims with a 3:44.89. In the women's triple jump, Dannette Haygood placed 12th with a mark of 11.94m. 

At the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, Evalen Garcia finished 11th in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.68m. Jeff Morris finished 13th in the men's high jump with a clearance of 1.91m and Andrew Cornthwaite placed 13th in the men's long jump with a 7.55m. 

Fullerton also featured a handful of distance runners at the Stanford Invitational, with Mia Bergman running a 4:37.16 in the women's 1500m to finish 15th in section four of the event. Olivia Ruiz finished 14th in the sixth section of the event with a 4:41.72. Talman Young placed fourth in section three of the men's steeplechase, running an 8:53.21. 

The Titans continue competing in all three meets tomorrow, Saturday, Mar. 30, when they will conclude competition.
