Titans Post Multiple Wins at Challenge Cup

FULLERTON, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton outdoor track and field secured seven event wins Friday at home in the 2024 Challenge Cup. 

Reyte Rash posted the Titans' first event win of the day in the men's 400m, clocking a time of 47.48 with Ian Dossman following close behind in third with a 48.20. Alonzo Floriolli finished fourth with a time of 48.57. 

In the women's 100m, five different Titans finished in the top six as Jahzara Davis secured the event win with a time of 11.967. Rayann Booker finished close behind in second, running an 11.969. Trinity Barnett secured gold in the women's 200m after clocking a 24.15. Aryianna Faircloth took second with a 24.79. 

Maleik Pabon earned gold in the men's 200m, posting a mark of 21.53 while Isaiah Emerson took second with a 21.55. Donovan Garcia won the men's 400m hurdles after clocking a 53.57. 

In the women's high jump, Carissa Martinez finished first after clearing a height of 1.56m. Teammate Favour Iyasere took eighth in the event with a 1.46m. 

The Titans' final event win came at the end of the night in the women's 4x400m relay, as Arionn Livingston, Barnett, Alyssa Heinlein and Grace Goldsworthy won gold with a time of 3:44.77. 

Davis earned a second-place finish in the women's 100m hurdles after clocking a 13.41. Heinlein finished second in the women's 400m with a 55.43 while Livingston took third with a 55.71. Grace Goldsworthy earned silver in the women's 800m, posting a 2:13.21. 

Men's high jumper Enrique Lara took second place in the event with a mark of 1.91m while Dannette Haygood earned bronze in the women's triple jump. She posted a mark of 11.36m. 

Teresa Chang finished second in the women's shot put after throwing a 13.63m. Catherine Dahlgberg earned bronze in the women's javelin, throwing for a mark of 34.35m.  

Up next, Fullerton returns to action next weekend with a pair of road meets. A handful of Titan distance runners will first compete in the Mangrum Invitational at Cal State San Marcos on Friday, Mar. 22. Fullerton will then send additional athletes to UCLA for the Johnson/Joyner-Kersee Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 23.
