CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans softball team dropped their final game at the Mary Nutter Classic 9-6 to Nebraska on Sunday.Â
Bailey Wallace and
Ava Arce drove in two runners with a pair of RBI singles for a 2-0 lead over the Huskers in the first inning.Â
The Huskers answered with six runs in the bottom half of the first, forcing the Titans to make an early call to the bullpen.Â
The Titans cut Nebraska's lead to three runs (6-3) in the third inning after designated hitter
Kika Ramirez beat the throw at second base for an RBI double to left field.Â
Haley Rainey entered in relief for
Staci Chambers (1.0 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 2 ER, 2 K) in the second inning, allowing the Huskers four hits and no runs through five innings. Chambers earned her second loss of the season in the 6-3 loss to Nebraska.Â
Softball returns home to host the annual Judi Garman Classic Thursday, Feb. 29 through Sunday, March 3. The Titans play games on Thursday against Michigan (12 p.m.) and Florida (5 p.m. to kick off the tournament. Â
