Titans Go Undefeated at Easton Classic, Chambers Earns No-Hitter

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's softball team opened the season with an undefeated 4-0 run at the Easton Classic following their 1-0 no-hit victory against Colorado State on Sunday. 

Bats fell silent for the Titans and Rams through the top of the fourth inning as a pitching duel between Staci Chambers and Danielle Serna kept the game tied 0-0. 

The Titans put together four hits, but scored the only run of the game off a home run to left field by Hannah Becerra in the bottom of the fourth. Becerra has recorded a home run in back-to-back games after hitting a grad slam in Saturday night's win over Pacific. 
 

LHP Staci Chambers pitched her first-ever no-hitter after facing 23 Colorado batters. Chambers is 2-0 on the season and recorded eight strikeouts. 
 

Haley Rainey, who threw a perfect game in six innings on Saturday night, and Chambers are the first Titans to pitch back-to-back no-hitters since Jodie Cox (April 27, 2002) and Christy Robitaille (April 28, 2002). 

The Titans travel to Arizona for the Littlewood Classic Friday, Feb. 16 to Sunday, Feb. 18. They will play a doubleheader against Memphis (10:30 a.m.) and California (1:15 p.m.) on Friday.
