BIG WEST RELEASE

IRVINE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans men's water polo team had two players garner All-Big West honorable mention honors as the conference announced the postseason awards for the men's water polo season on Friday. Togan Ozbek and Julian Nichols were both honored after the Titans second season of men's water polo since the program's rebirth.

Togan Ozbek was named a Big West Honorable Mention for the second time in his career.  He was also named an Honorable Mention during the 2023 season.  Ozbek led the Titans in points this season after depositing 48 goals and tallying 29 assists.  He also drew 20 exclusions, 17 steals, and recorded 10 field blocks.  Ozbek was tied for ninth in the conference with 48 goals and tenth in the conference with 29 assists. He had the sixth most points in the conference.  Ozbek finished his Titans career with 106 goals and 70 assists.  He became the first Titan to score 100 goals for his career after achieving the feat at UC San Diego.



Julian Nichols was named a Big West Honorable Mention for the first time in his career. Julian Nichols was third on the team in points with 58 points.  He was second on the team with 46 goals and also tallied 12 assists for the season.  He also drew 10 exclusions and recorded 9 steals and five blocks and was 7-for-7 on sprints. Nichols became the second Titan with his 100 career goals after scoring his 100th career goal in the final game of his career in the Big West 1st Round game against UC Davis. Nichols finished his Titans career with 130 points on 101 career goals and 29 career assists.



The Titans finished their second season with an 11-18 overall record.  Of the 22 players on the roster, 14 of the players were seniors.
