CORVALLIS, Ore. ā Cal State Fullerton men's basketball battled tough on the road but fell behind late as Oregon State pulled away to defeat the Titans 70-51 Friday night at Gill Coliseum. With the loss the Titans drop to 0-4 on the year.Ā
The Titans played an outstanding first half, leading Oregon State at halftime by a score of 32-25.Ā
After falling behind 7-0 to start the game, a three-pointer by Davis Bynum and a three-point play the old-fashioned way from Donovan Oday quickly got the Titans back in the game.Ā

With five minutes left in the half and the game tied at 17, Keith Richard hit a much needed three to give Fullerton its first lead of the game.Ā
The freshman Bynum went on to make two key plays down the stretch of the first half, including another three-point bucket and a monster slam dunk in transition. Bynum scored 10 points in the first half and a team-high 12 points in the game.Ā

Just before the first half buzzer Antwan Robinson drilled a three-pointer to give the Titans a seven-point lead heading into the locker room.Ā
The Titans had a strong shooting performance in the first half, shooting 44 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range. On the other end, Oregon State struggled in the first 20 minutes, shooting just 29 percent and 17 percent from three.Ā
Fullerton hung in tough to start the second half, extending their lead to eight points, 37-29, following a tough finish down low from Kendrick De Luna.Ā
Oregon State slowly started to close the gap on the Titans before pulling away late in the game. The Beavers got hot from the floor, shooting 62 percent in the second half and 58 percent from three-point range on 7-for-12.Ā
After a four-game road trip to start the season Fullerton is back at Titan Gym Monday night for its home opener against Idaho State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
