Titans Take Down LMU on the Road

Fullerton hands LMU its first loss of the season

LOS ANGELES – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer defeated LMU on the road Thursday night by a final score of 1-0 to hand LMU its first loss of the season. The Titans improve to 5-2-2 on the year with the win.

Fullerton controlled the possession and pace of the game early while creating multiple chances that it was unable to finish.

The two teams went into the locker room tied at halftime with the shots even at 7-7. Fullerton ended the game out-shooting the Lions 13-12.

The Titans went on the attack early in the second half, earning a penalty kick in the 49th minute after a pass in the 18-yard box went off a LMU defender's hand.

Roberto Ordonez stepped to the spot and buried the PK with ease to put the Titans up 1-0. Ordonez scored his team-high fifth goal of the season which ranks tied for first in The Big West. Ordonez leads the team with 13 points on five goals and three assists, ranking first in The Big West.

Fullerton's defense stifled the LMU attack for the remainder of the game to earn the 1-0 victory on the road. The Titans have won three consecutive games and extended their unbeaten streak to six consecutive games.

The Titans are back at home Sunday night to host San Diego at 7:30 p.m. in a doubleheader with the women's soccer team. Sunday's game against San Diego is the final nonconference game of the season.
