Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton men's water polo defeated Chapman in an 11-10 home-opening thriller on Saturday night. They extended their win streak to five games, improving their record to 6-4.Â
The Titans came out strong, scoring the first two goals of the game.
Julian Nichols started off the offense with the first goal at the 7:08 mark, followed by
Bende Aubeli adding to the board.Â

Togan Ozbek drilled a shot into the back of the net from the five-meter mark to grab a 4-1 lead. At the end of the first quarter, the Titans had a 4-2 lead over Chapman who would even the score at 4-4.Â
The Titans lost their first lead of the game after sending Chapman to the five-meter mark in the second quarter.Â
Aaron Ayala wasted no time in evening the score at 5-5 on a power play goal late in the first half. Â

With a tied game at the break, Nichols showed his dominance with the help of
Nico D'Angelo to retake the lead, 6-5, on even strength in the third quarter.
Dominic Hernandez fired another shot to extend Fullerton's lead to 7-5.

With five minutes to go, the game was tied at 8-8. Hernandez, Aubeli and Ozbek rallied the Titans to an 11-10 lead, where they would secure the win.Â

Fullerton will return to the pool on short rest Sunday at Pepperdine. They are set to face Cal Maritime at 2:30 p.m. and Pepperdine at 5:00 p.m.
