RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans softball team lost 3-0 against UC Riverside on Sunday afternoon in the series finale at Amy S. Harrison Field.  

The Titans move to 19-15 overall and 6-3 in conference play where they remained tied for second place behind Long Beach State with 7-2 conference record.   

Raci Miranda got the start and went three innings and allowed two runs on two hits and two walks. Myka Sutherlin pitched the final three innings and allowed one run on two hits, one walk, and struck out seven batters.

The Highlanders took the lead in the third inning on a RBI groundout.  The Highlanders added two more in the fourth inning.  The Titans should've gotten out of the inning cleanly but there was a weak popup hit to six hole and the third baseman and shortstop failed to communicate and allowed the ball to drop for a single which extended the inning.  The Highlanders came to capitalize when the 9th batter in the lineup hit a bloop single over the infield to score the two runs. 

The Titans offense had two hits for the game.  Bailey Wallace had a base hit and Ashleigh Dendas picked up her first career hit in the fifth inning

The Titans will head back home to Fullerton next weekend for a three-game set with CSUN.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Friday night.
