FULLERTON, Calif. — Five different Titans scored in double figures as Cal State Fullerton men's basketball defeated Stanton 102-52 Sunday afternoon at Titan Gym. The win improves the Titans' record to 4-4.Â
"We have to have a disruptive mindset with what we do in our approach," head coach Dedrique Taylor said. "I thought we did a good job with that Friday night and today. We have to keep that same mindset moving forward."Â
Max Jones led all scorers with 16 points while freshmen Keith Richard added 14 and Antwan Robinson had 13, both season-highs. Jalen Cooper tallied a career-high 12 points and five rebounds while Grayson Carper also scored 12. Donovan Oday added nine points, four steals and three boards.
Fullerton shot 63% from the floor and 57.1% from three, both season-highs. The Titans held Stanton to 39.2% shooting and outscored the Fighting Elks 61-4 on bench points.Â
Fullerton never trailed, with Vincent Lee scoring a pair of baskets in the paint early. Jones and Carper traded three-pointers, before a Richard jumper capped an 11-0 run to put the Titans up 23-4. Richard and Robinson each knocked down treys before Richard found Kendrick De Luna for a slam as Fullerton led 48-22 at the half.Â
