Box Score 2 FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton softball opened up Big West Conference play on Saturday with two run-rule victories over the UC Davis Aggies. The Titans won game one in five innings by a score of 12-4 and won game two in six innings by a score of 6-0. Daisy Munoz combined to go 5-for-6 at the plate with three doubles and a three-run home run. The final game of the series is set for 12 p.m. PT on Sunday on BigWest.TV.
GAME ONE
The Titans (17-11, 2-0 Big West) recorded a season-high 13 hits in the game and five Titans had multi-hit games. Munoz was one of those five as she blasted a three-run homer to left in the bottom of the second inning to open up the scoring for the Titans. She laced an RBI double in the third and an RBI single in the fourth to cap off her 3-for-3 game with two runs scored and five runs driven in. Her five RBI mark a single-game season high for the junior.
Fullerton scored runs in each of the second, third, fourth and fifth innings to give pitcher Sophie Frost plenty of run support as she earned the win. Frost (7-3 on the year) finished with a line of 4.0 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO.
Kelsie Whitmore doubled in the bottom of the fifth inning and was then driven home by Megan Delgadillo to walk it off via RBI single.
GAME TWO
Savannah Serrata recorded the first complete-game shutout of her collegiate career as the freshman posted a line of 6.0 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 SO to earn the win. She worked efficiently, throwing just 69 pitches total and 46 for strikes.
Offensively, the Titans had 11 hits, marking the team's third straight game with 10+ hits and 11th straight game with 7+ hits.
Delgadillo was 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored, including the walk-off run from Bailey Wallace's single in the bottom of the sixth. Wallace went for 2-for-4 at the plate as well and drove in four runs, a single-game career-high for the freshman left fielder.
Again, after a scoreless first inning, the Titans scored in each of the ensuing innings.
