Katie Thompson joins the Titan Family in August 2023. She came from Cal State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) where she spent almost two years as a Compliance Coordinator. In her role she oversaw incoming students' eligibility (4-4 transfers, 2-4 transfers, and first-time freshman), administered support in all NCAA matters to coaches, admin, and students, and provided academic advising assistance to student-athletes to make sure they maintain progress towards degree and eligibility. Katie was also the liaison to many departments on campus, such as Admissions, Housing, and Orientation. Additionally, she managed travel for the department and was tasked with numerous aspects of business operations for the department. During her time here she earned the Emerging Leader Award in 2022 from CSUSB Student Affairs. Katie also completed a Graduate Certificate in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration from University of Mississippi in Spring 2022.
Before her time at CSUSB, she worked as a Compliance Assistant at Azusa Pacific University (APU) and an academic mentor with the DEGREE program for Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) in Spring 2021. Prior to her time at CSUF and APU, she worked as a graduate assistant in compliance and academics at APU from 2018-2020. She graduated from Azusa Pacific in May 2020 with a Master of Science in College Counseling and Student Development. Katie graduated from University of La Verne in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design.
As a former student-athlete, Katie enjoys the competitive aspect of slow-pitch softball in her free time.
