Jorge Jabaz

Jabaz comes to Cal State Fullerton with a wealth of experience in the running community as both a competitor and a coach. He currently coaches Valor Track Club in Orange County, a group he founded in 2018 to give runners of all levels, including both elite and Olympic hopefuls, an opportunity to reach the next level in their running careers. Jabaz has served as a Cross Country and Track and Field coach at Concordia University Irvine, Hope International University, and Mount San Jacinto Community College.

While at Concordia University and Hope International University, Jabaz coached several athletes to All-American honors in Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track and Field. Jabaz coached 2015 NAIA Indoor T&F 5000-meter National Champion and 2016 10,000-meter PacWest champion, Ashley Bell, while at Concordia University Irvine.

A collegiate runner himself at Concordia University Irvine, Jabaz was an NAIA All-American in both track and cross country. He was a Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) champion in the 4X800 relay, the 1,500 meters and the 5,000 meters. He was part of back-to-back NAIA National Championship teams that won team combined titles in 2005 and 2006.

Jabaz is also a USATF World Masters silver and bronze medalist in cross country and track and field.

Jabaz has also served as a coach and training partner to several USA and International world class athletes who have qualified for the Olympic Trials, as well as international athletes who have competed at both the European and World Athletics Championships.

"I am very excited to join Cal State University Fullerton and share my passion for coaching and running. Thank you to Coach Marques Barosso and Athletic Director Jim Donovan for the opportunity to step in and help elevate the program. My goal is to implement a hard-working environment where athletes not only achieve success on the track, but also develop the character, leadership, and teamwork skills they'll need to succeed in life", said Jabaz.
