Jason Bittick enters his first season with the Cal State Fullerton women's golf program after serving as Second Assistant Coach at San Diego State during the 2025–26 season. He brings more than four decades of experience as an elite competitive golfer, coach, and leader.
Bittick brings extensive experience in player development and developing high-performance team cultures. His coaching background includes serving as Second Assistant Coach at San Diego State during the 2025-26 season after previously leading successful high school programs at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, Orange Lutheran High School, and Olympia High School in Florida. During his time at Santa Margarita, he helped guide the Eagles to two CIF Southern Section Team Championships, while Olympia captured a Florida State Championship under his leadership.
As a player, Bittick has enjoyed success at every level of the game. One of Southern California's most accomplished junior golfers, he recorded more than 50 junior tournament victories and captured both the 1985 Southern California PGA Junior Championship and SCGA Junior Championship. His decorated high school career included being named the 1986 Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register Golfer of the Year, winning the CIF Southern Section Individual Championship, helping his team capture a CIF title, and becoming the youngest qualifier in Farmers Insurance Open history in 1986.
Following high school, Bittick served four years in the United States Marine Corps, where he continued to distinguish himself on the course. He earned All-United States Marine Golf Team and All-United States Military Golf Team honors, won the USMC Asia Regional Championship, and represented the United States at the 1990 CISM World Military Games.
Following his military service, Bittick continued to excel as a competitive golfer from 1992–99, competing on several professional tours, including the Nike Tour, Sunshine Tour, Golden State Tour, NGA Hooters Tour, Gary Player Tour, Golden Bear Tour, and Gulf Coast Tour. During this period, he also earned medalist honors at the 1996 U.S. Open Local Qualifier, further highlighting his success among elite amateur and professional competitors.
His competitive success continued throughout his amateur career, qualifying for multiple USGA Amateur and Mid-Amateur Championships while earning medalist honors in U.S. Amateur qualifying in both 2008 and 2009. Bittick reached the quarterfinals of the California State Amateur twice, won multiple SCGA championships, represented California at the USGA State Team Championship, and has remained an accomplished senior competitor, highlighted by back-to-back Coronado Senior Amateur titles in 2023 and 2024 and runner-up finishes at both the 2025 NCGA and SCGA Senior Four-Ball Championships.
In addition to his coaching experience, Bittick has held executive leadership roles in the business sector, bringing valuable experience in leadership, communication, budgeting, and organizational management to the collegiate athletics environment.
