Hassan Nizam joined the Titans in 2025 as an Assistant Coach for the Titans Men’s Basketball team. Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, Nizam spent time coaching at Roseville High School and Macomb Community College as a head coach and then served as an assistant coach at University of Michigan-Dearborn and most recently, Central Michigan University.
Nizam spent two seasons with CMU, leading the Chippewas to a 32-31 record while he was there. One of his many roles at CMU was recruiting. Nizam recruited several student-athletes including the MAC Preseason Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and an All-Mac First Team and Second Team.
While at Macomb Community College, Nizam led the team to the NJCCAA DII National Championship game which was the best finish in program history. He also led them to a second NCJAA Regional XII Championship and the program’s first MCCAA Eastern Conference Championship since 1992. During his first year with Macomb, Nizam coached the team to a 25-5 overall record and 13-3 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. He helped send players to the NCAA DI and NCAA DII levels in back-to-back seasons at Macomb.
Was named MCCAA Coach of the Year, MCCAA Eastern Conference Coach of the Year and Men’s Junior College Coach of the Year in 2022. In 2023 was crowned NJCAA Region XII District C Coach of the Year.
While serving as head coach at Roseville High School, he held a 59-28 record over four seasons. Through the course of those four seasons, Nizam guided his team to three District Championships, one Regional Crown, a League Championship and the first Regional Championship Win in program history.
Nizam spent one season with University of Michigan-Dearborn as an assistant coach after coaching at his high school alma mater, Fordson High School.
Nizam played basketball at Fordson High School and earned Second Team All-City after serving as team captain during his senior season.
