2013 Big West Co-Coach of the Year
Entering his 24thseason at the helm of Cal State Fullerton, HeadCoach Bill Reynolds brings more than two decades of teaching andcoaching experience to Cal State Fullerton.
During the 2004-05 season, Reynolds guided the team to a 13-11overall record and a ninth-place finish at the Big West Tournament.It was the first winning season for the Fullerton tennis team sincethe 1994-95 season.
One of eight tennis playing siblings and the son of the formerhead tennis coach and dean of students at UC Santa Barbara,Reynolds achieved a USTA national ranking in the juniors, played atSanta Barbara High School and UCSB. After competing in severalprofessional tournaments, Reynolds returned to UCSB for graduateschool and the eventual beginning of his coaching career.
Among his many former teaching positions, Reynolds served as headpro/tennis director at the Manhattan Beach Country Club, and asAssistant Pro at the Jack Kramer Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.
Prior to Cal State Fullerton, Reynolds served as assistant coachfor the men's team at UC Irvine. During his stint at UCI, the men'steam achieved a national ranking of No. 2 and reached thesemi-finals of the NCAA tournament.
Along with his duties as head coach at Cal State Fullerton,Reynolds also serves as a Competition Training Center coach (OrangeCounty) for the USTA Player Development Program and has coachedseveral SCTA teams at National Zonal Team Championships. He is onthe Professional Advisory Staff for Wilson Sporting Goods and alsoserves on the ITA/NCAA West Region Ranking Committee.
Reynolds currently resides in Brea, Calif.
