LA JOLLA, Calif. - Emilie Lugon-Moulin finished as the Big West Individuals Runner-Up in Singles at the Big West Fall Tournament on Sunday at the UC San Diego Tennis Courts.

Lugon-Moulin had the best the Titans showing of the weekend after winning five matches in singles to reach the Championship Match.  As the No. 4 seed, she lost to the No. 3 seed Ekua Youri of UC Santa Barbara 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 in the championship match.

She started the tournament with a double bagel sweep of Victoria Luo Freitas (CSUN) 6-0, 6-0.  In the round of 32, she defeated Amy Leather (Cal Poly) 6-4, 6-3. In the round of 16, she defeated Olivia Allegre (UCSD) 6-0, 6-2. In the quarterfinals she defeated Natalie Lynch (Cal Poly) 6-3, 6-3.  In the semifinals she defeated Raphaelle Leroux 3-1 after her opponent in the first set with Lugon-Mouline leading.

The Titans had five players in singles advance to the second round in Dana Kunza, Lugon-Moulin, Seha Yu, Martina Markov, and Martina Puvill.  However, only Seha Yu advanced to the third round after automatically advancing in a walkover in the second round after her opponent withdrew to injury.  Yu lost to eventual tournament championship Ekua Youri 6-1, 6-1 in the third round.

In doubles, the Titans won all four of their first round matches, but they all lost in the second round.  Stina Larsson/Dana Kunza defeated Victoria Luo Freitas/Ruby Vancott (CSUN) 8-2 in the first round before losing in the second round to the LBSU pairing of Thea Jagare/Pamela Badillo Hernandez 8-6.  Seha Yu/Johanna Hiesmair defeated Mika Ikemori/Satusuki Ishikawa (CSUN) 8-3 in the first round before falling to Nel Van Hout/Viktoriia Sedova (Sac State) in the second round. Maria Paula Ramos Garcia/Martina Puvill defeated Isabella Pitchford/Montana Parkinson-Lubold (UCI) 8-4 in the first round before falling to Jessica MacCallum/Natalie Lynch (Cal Poly) 8-3 in the second round. Martina Markov/Emilie Lugon-Moulin defeated Madison Shepperson/Sandra Isabela Arguelles (CSUN) 8-3 in the first round before falling to Cecilia Costa/Elen Jantacova (LBSU) 8-2 in the second round.

The Titans will head back to San Diego in two weeks for the ITA Regionals Tournament.
