FULLERTON, Calif. – Titans Softball veterans
Ava Arce and
Trisha McCleskey were named to D1Softball's inaugural 2026 Preseason Mid-Major D100 Player Rankings, the organization announced Monday. Arce was ranked No. 24, while McCleskey checked in at No. 61 following standout 2025 seasons.
Arce finished the 2025 season ranked No. 47 on D1Softball's inaugural postseason Mid-Major D100 list, after a record-breaking junior season. Last season, the infielder from Huntington Beach hit .409 with a .435 on-base percentage and .701 slugging percentage, leading the team with 12 home runs, 12 doubles, 67 hits and 62 RBI. She led the conference in batting average, slugging percentage, hits and RBI.
Arce's 60th RBI of the season came as a two-run home run that set the single-season program record for most RBI, surpassing the previous mark of 59 set by Olympic gold medalist Jenny Topping in 2001. She earned NFCA All-West Region Second Team recognition, was named to the All-Big West First Team, claimed Big West Field Player of the Year honors, and was a four-time Big West Field Player of the Week.
McCleskey earned her first All-Big West First Team selection and two Big West Pitcher of the Week honors in 2025. She tossed 166.2 innings with 119 strikeouts on the season. In conference play, McCleskey posted a team-low 2.27 ERA, recording 10 wins, two saves, six complete games and five shutouts.Â
Across 83.1 innings in conference play, she held Big West hitters to a .227 average and retired 62 on strikes. She pitched eight seven-inning games and recorded a career-high eight strikeouts against UC Davis on April 18.
Arce and McCleskey were two of five Big West players to receive D1Softball preseason rankings, joining UC Santa Barbara's Malaya Johnson (No. 21) and Bella Fuentes (No. 84), and UC San Diego's Maalia Cherry (No. 91).Â
