FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team were defeated by the University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon at the Titan Courts in a marathon match that lasted over four hours.
After both their matches rained out last week, the Titans finally made their return to action on Tuesday. The Titans fell to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play for the season. Â
The Titans played from behind after dropping the doubles point. Â They were quickly defeated in No. 2 Doubles 6-1 but won in No. 3 doubles 7-5. Â It came down to the No. 1 doubles point where the Rainbow Wahine won 7-6 in the tiebreak over the Titans to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles, the Titans won No. 1 and No. 2 singles to take a lead over the Rainbow Wahine. No. 2
Seha Yu won in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 and No. 1
Sein Myoung won in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.  Nikola Homolkova defeated
Diana Yanotovskaya 7-6, 6-2 in No. 3 singles to make it a 2-2 game.  Joelle Lanz defeated Katytlin Taylor in No. 6 singles to give the Rainbow Wahine a 3-2 lead.  Makeliah Nepomuceno won in No. 5 singles  6-3, 5-7, 6-4 to secure the match point for the Rainbow Wahine. They had to play out No. 3 singles where
Mariia Nikitash eventually won the match 6-4, 6-7 (3-6), 6-4 to give the Titans a late consolation point. Â

The Titans will be back in action tomorrow for game two of their five game homestand where they will take on Drake University. The Beach defeated Drake 4-0 earlier this afternoon. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m.
